Energy and Wellness
Energy psychology and wellness is a way of living and being for me. Many energetic and natural healing concepts are woven organically into the therapeutic process and are an integral part of how I practice psychology.
Some alternative approaches will only be incorporated into the wellness experience if you are comfortable as they are not required for your psychotherapy experience. Rather, they are meant to complement traditional Westernized therapy.
What does “Deneki” mean?
Stefanie was inspired by her Alaskan heritage to name her business after one of her favorite animals and childhood book. Written and hand illustrated by the late, William D. Berry, the book is titled “Deneki, an Alaskan Moose”. The word, “deneki,” is an Alaskan Native Indian word meaning, “moose” and is pronounced “de-nee-kee”

Certifications and Training
Stefanie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a certified Reiki Master Teacher practitioner. She is certified as an Archangelic Light Practitioner and has completed a short-course series on the use of crystals and herbs.
She began practicing non-clinical social work upon graduating from the University of Alaska at Fairbanks in 1997, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. In 2001, Stefanie graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver, Colorado. Stefanie became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2008. Since then, she has continued her career in the field of social work, practicing psychotherapy.
Although not an Alaskan Native Indian herself, Stefanie grew up immersed in an eclectic blend of Native Alaskan heritage and adventurous folks originating from “the lower 48.” Her small home-town of Palmer, Alaska, is situated in the Matanuska Susitna Valley. The “Valley” as it’s aptly referred to, is rimmed by the most majestic and amazing mountains you could ever imagine and is speckled with sparkling lakes and powerful rivers fed by the Matanuska Glacier and melting mountain snow.
Wildlife was abundant everywhere, with her favorites being moose, porcupine, fox and anything small and furry. Stefanie explored the wilderness on foot, by bush planes, on boats, 4-wheelers and on horseback. Dip-netting for salmon, hiking mountain trails, ocean fishing for halibut, living in cabins with no plumbing or electricity, panning for gold at her mother’s gold-mine deep in the Talkeetna Mountains and camping under the midnight sun account for just some of her amazing life experiences.
